Umm Gamar North Dive Site

Глубина 10 - 25 m

The Umm Gamar North Dive Site lies on the northern side of the long, isolated reef formed by an underwater mountain near the island of the same name. Located about 90 minutes from Hurghada, this site is known for its dramatic topography, crystal-clear water, and diverse marine life. The name Umm Gamar, meaning “Mother of the Moon”, comes from the crescent-shaped outline of the island that curves beautifully above the reef.

Depths vary from 10 to 25 meters, making this a perfect spot for intermediate divers who want to explore both shallow reef structures and deeper sloping sections. The northern area often features stronger currents, attracting larger pelagic fish such as trevallies, tunas, and occasionally barracudas patrolling the blue. Along the reef wall, divers encounter soft corals, gorgonians, parrotfish, butterflyfish, and moray eels hiding in crevices.

With its mix of vibrant coral life, striking underwater landscapes, and exciting marine encounters, Umm Gamar North is one of the most captivating dive sites in the region.
